Sign, Sign Everywhere a Sign

When someone loses a loved one, they look for signs of their continue presence.

History is full of examples of items and animals we consider signs from the afterlife. Many people say that butterflies are their sign. Others find dimes everywhere they go. Feathers are a message from the afterlife. Whenever I am down or need guidance I always find a feather. Cardinals have long been thought to be a visit from our loved one.

For me it is Birds, but mostly Robins.

I have a book where I record every sign that I have received from CJ. I had to stop recording about the Robins, because she or he is always by my side. She/He was there every day.

This year a Robin nested at my front door for months. She had three broods - I found out that is what you call them - a brood. With her staying with me so long I began to research Robins.

I found this on one web site:

For centuries, this tiny bird has been the symbol of good luck, happiness, rebirth - and sometimes even as a messenger for lost, loved ones. There are tales stretching back to Norse mythology where the robin is the protector from storms and lightning. And in Celtic folklore the robin is known as the Oak King of Summer.

CJ left us in the summer - maybe just maybe he sent the Robin in his place.

I also learned that Robins can recognize humans. They recognize the way we move, our facial features and our schedules. I have to believe that she recognizes me, she is always watching me.

I believe that Robins are my protectors. They are not long lived, but I believe that each year a new one finds its way to me. I believe that it was there from CJ to watch over me.

Everywhere I go, Everyone I talk to who has lost someone, sees signs. They are there if we look. The peace and the connection they bring helps in this grief journey we are on. And gives us a little bit of dare I say a glimpse at real joy, in that connection.
