Even in the Quietest Moments

I fill my facebook with memories of CJ . I have so many memories. So many trips. So many family and friends events. So many diving meets and baseball tournaments and concerts.
Those times are all special and wonderful, but there is more.
I went to the mall yesterday and it reminded me about a piece of life I had with CJ that I don't talk about enough. The regular days. The ordinary times. The simple life. I can't say normal. CJ disliked the term normal. He thought we shouldn't paint everyone with the same brush of what was "normal". We each needed to create our own "normal" So we will call them the regular, ordinary, simple days.
Going to the mall reminded me of the ordinary that I shared with CJ.
I passed Laura Secord and I remembered that everytime we came to the mall, CJ got a Superkid ice cream cone.
I wondered the mall, remembering all the times we had come shopping for new school clothes.
Other memories came to mind as I passed different stores . When we would watch movies together. Nights playing on our computers - side by side, not interacting but just existing together.
These memories come with a picture in my mind of a smiling CJ, a Happy CJ.
There are not many pictures of these simple times. I did find a few. Who would think that pictures would need to be taken just to remember the ordinary.
The memories are fading as the years go by. So when a simple time crosses my mind, when an ordinary day pops in my head, I will write it down.
Because these quiet moments, these simple times, need to be remembered.
